Document Description
Existing General Plan policies and zoning regulations for Byron Airport prohibit most of the uses necessary for the airport to reach its aviation potential and achieve economic self-sufficiency. To promote economic development, the County intends to amend its Airport Land Use Compatibility Plan, General Plan, and PUD zoning to substantially broaden the range of uses allowed by-right on airport property. This will include a variety of aviation uses (terminal, hangers, fixed-base operators, aircraft sales, aviation-supporting businesses, etc.) and airport-compatible uses (light industry, warehousing and distribution, general commercial and retail, offices, etc.). Up to 835,000 sf of development may be permitted.
