- The proposed project would include renovations, modernizations, and new construction at San Pedro HS; including demolition of the industrial arts building, metal shop building, and lunch shelter/food service building, and approx 10 classrooms located in five portable buildings. The project would include the construction of a Band and Shop Building, Lunch Shelters, and a new administration, food services, and classroom building. The new buildings would house approx 14 new general and specialty classrooms, and support spaces. The project includes modifications and/or upgrades to the existing admin building, the physical education building, the home economics building, and classroom building 1. Upon project completion, San Pedro HS would have 74 classrooms including 25 existing classrooms, 35 remodeled classrooms, and 14 new classrooms. In addition, the LAUSD proposes the removal and off-site disposal of approx 226 cy of soil with elevated concentrations of arsenic, lead, and/or organochlorine pesticides and replacement with clean fill.
