Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Streambed Alteration Agreement number 1600-2020-0041-R4, pursuant to section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, Merced County Department of Public Works. The Project consists of activities related to replacing the Burchell Avenue bridge over Duck Slough. The existing timber bridge structure will be removed, and the new bridge will be constructed within the same alignment. Existing piers and abutments on each side of the slough will be removed. Construction of the new bridge includes construction of piers and abutments, and installation of rock slope protection below the abutments. Related activities include dewatering if needed, prior to construction work, and the use of falsework during construction. The bridge superstructure is designed to allow 100-year flood flows to pass under the bridge with a minimum of three feet of freeboard.
