The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has considered the Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration as prepared by the lead agency and based on the document prepared by the Lead Agency, Caltrans will issue an encroachment permit for the following work: On Interstate 5 - construct a 12' wide bike trail on the embankment under the Interstate 5/Kern River Bridges (Bridge number 50-302 Right and Left). On State Route 43 - construct a Class 1 bike trail under the State Route 43/Kern River Bridge (Bridge number 50-74).
