The city of Oxnard, in cooperation with the Ventura County Transportation Commission and Caltrans, is proposing to construct a grade separation on Rice Avenue where it crosses over SR 34 and the UPRR tracks. The northern portion of the project area is located in the city, while the southern portion to the south of SR 34 is located in an unincorporated area of the county of Ventura; SR-34, east of Rice Avenue, is located within Caltrans ROW.
