Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement(EPIMS-LAN-49279-R5), pursuant to Fish and Game Code section 1602, the project Applicant, California Department of Transportation. The portion of this project (Phase 2) covered by this Agreement is considered the “Project” includes constructing three cross vanes in an unnamed creek to prevent further stream incision and restore the floodplain. Caltrans will grade a channel that drains runoff from the wildlife crossing to Liberty Canyon Creek which will be lined with rock slope protection, backfilled, and vegetated. Caltrans will install a grade control structure at the confluence of the drainage channel and Liberty Canyon Creek to maintain channel stability and reduce erosion in both creeks. To accomplish this portion of the Project, Caltrans will clear and grub an area of 3,000ft2 (300ft x 10ft) at the confluence of the drainage channel and Liberty Canyon Creek.
