Document Description
The proposed project would consist of interior tenant improvements to the 1st floor of the San Bernardino Courthouse Annex, which is currently used for storage. Once renovations are complete, approximately 30 technology department staff members would relocate to the Courthouse Annex building. The technology department is currently in a building leased from the County of San Bernardino and the lease will expire in 2018. The proposed renovations would provide for a permanent and functional space consistent with the work performed by the technology department. In addition, moving the technology department to the newly renovated building within the downtown court complex would put them in closer proximity to a majority of the court staff and in turn, would improve response time when technical support is required.
The proposed renovations include the construction of five new offices, one conference room, one computer and equipment repair room, replacement of ceiling tiles where needed, installation of new carpet, new paint, and ungraded cabinets and sink in the existing breakroom. Proposed demolition involves the removal of carpeting throughout, demolition of several interior walls, removal of suspended ceiling, and the removal of cabinetry and book cases. Construction would begin in late 2017 and be completed in early 2018.
