The Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) is proposing a corrective action remedy selection for the former Crown Beverage Packaging Company, Inc. (CBPC) facility, a subsidiary of the Crown Cork & Seal, Inc. (Crown). CBPC is a former aluminum can-manufacturing facility at Van Nuys, Los Angeles County, California. The Facility was also formerly known as Continental Can Company #433. The former facility is now owned by Realty Bancorp Equities of Woodlands Hills, California. The proposed remember consists of: 1) monitoring and contingency elements addressing the unsaturated zone, ground water, and indoor air; 2) institutional control elements; and 3) financial assurance elements.
