The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed a Streambed Alteration Agreement number 1600-2017-0149-R2, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the South Yuba Citizens League.
The restoration project in Loney Meadows consists of 1) removing a 35 ft. wide by 1ft. deep diversion levee, 2) stabilizing channel incision with 2500 cubic yards of fine sediment (soil/dirt/sand/mud) to fill the 0.81 miles of channel, 3: relocating and stabilizing 520 feet of the trail, and 4) replacing a trail bridge and decommissioning 250 feet of abandoned road.
The project would have no effect (direct, indirect or cumulative) on an plant species listed for protection under the Endangered Species Act because all appropriate avoidance measure have been identified and will be implemented during the project as described in the appendices of the Management Plan.
