Document Description
The Department of Fish and Wildlife is issuing a permit to the Marine Science Institute (MSI) pursuant to Fish and Game Code Section 2081(a) for trawl surveys in San Francisco Bay. The Section 2081(a) permit authorizes the MSI to take Longfin Smelt and Chinook Salmon during the course of its survey subject to terms and conditions set forth in the permit. The purpose of this survey is to provide a hands-on science education program for San Francisco Bay Area school children form 4th grade through college aboard the R/V Robert G. Brownlee. The MSI will survey 3 stations within San Francisco Bay (San Mateo Bride, Dumbarton Bridge, South Hampton Shoal) using a phytoplankton tow, otter trawl, mud grab sample, and Van Dorn and water quality tests.
