Document Description
Southern California Logistics airport staff and consultant engineers have identified Runway 17/35 as being very poor condition, with strong potential risks associated with failing pavement. The project entails only the asphalt portions of runway 17/35 which consists of the removal and reconstruction of approximately 1,780,000 square feet of structural runway pavement section to current FAA Design Standards. It also entails the replacement of approximately 200,000 square feet of existing asphalt runway shoulders that will be lost as a function of the runway reconstruction. The entire project area is currently developed runway and the proposed project will not extend to any of the bare soil areas adjacent to the project area. Additionally, the runway will remain the same size, both length and width, to continue serving the same fleet mix of aircraft.
