NOE - Notice of Exemption
The project would provide essential visitor services (water and water treatment) to support park visitors and staff of El Capitan State Beach. This project includes repair of the potable water tank, replacement of underground and above ground piping, replacement of the water treatment plant (WTP), and required upgrades to meet current codes. The new building, which will house the WTP will be made out of fire-resistant materials. It will be rebuilt in the same location as the previously one with similar dimensions and height. The building materials will be fire-resistant in the event of a future fire event that could threaten the facility. The proposes water well site's feasibility shall be determined via exploratory drilling. This would include an 8-inch diameter exploratory hole up to 450 feet in depth using air/mud rotary drilling techniques.
