Document Description
The City of Redding proposes to use CalRecycle Illegal Disposal Site Abatement grant funds to conduct waste removal and implement security measures at three public access locations. The purpose of the project is to remove waste and prevent illegal camping in order to improve public health, safety, and water quality along the Sacramento River. The work at each location will vary based on site needs and regulatory agency permit requirements, but may include: invasive species removal; vegetation trimming; installation of fencing, gates lighting, signs, security cameras, and seasonal culvert covers; placement of boulders; night shift police/security patrols; vehicle and equipment rental for waste disposal; and placement of temporary restrooms. Waste removal and disposal would occur at all three locations, which are owned by the City of Redding.
