Caltrans proposes to overlay existing asphalt pavement in both directions on State Route 79 from the Interstate 8/SR-79 separation near Descanso, east to the junction of SR-79/SR-78 near Julian. The project also includes shoulder backing in areas where shoulder backing already exist.
