Castlewood Tanks Replacement

The Tank Replacement project was evaluated as described in the 2017 MND pursuant to CEQA and adopted by the Alameda County Board of Supervisors. Following adoption of the 2017 MND, plans were finalized that included minor changes of locating one of the tanks uphill on the site originally requiring 9,000 sf grading as described in the 2017 MND to increase by 6,000 sf to 15,000 sf. An overflow discharge pipe extending from the tank site through Castlewood Dr. about 900 ft to discharge at a rock rip-rap outfall on the golf course fairway was added. Also, two off-site staging areas, a 5,000 sf area near the tank site and a 1,200 sf site about 1,500 ft to the east of the tanks were identified as potential temporary staging areas. Only one of the two sites would be used during construction.
