Document Description
LCSD plans to modify its wastewater treatment facility (WWTF) and effluent discharge system. Proposed WWTF improvements include a new influent pump station, improved pre-treatment with pre-screening in the form of a rotary drum screen, and an improved secondary treatment system with an extended aeration system which would meet permit requirements for land application of treated wastewater. The WWTf will switch from chlorine disinfection to ultraviolet disinfection. LCSD will lease agricultural land near the WWTF and construct a land application system for treated effluent. A new pump station and force main pipe will be constructed in the agricultural fields for irrigation.
