Document Description
Rosamond Community Services District would integrate eight water systems to their distribution system to provide potable water that meets applicable state and federal water quality standards. The project has been recommended by SWRCB. The district is expected to begin construction in January 2018 and take approx nine months to complete the annexation of the eight communities. All of these systems have a water distribution system currently supplied by groundwater wells. Arsenic levels for most of the systems are above the Max Contaminant Level of 10 micrograms per liter. High levels of other constituents such as chromium and uranium are also present. Additionally, six of the eight systems contain only well, and lack reliability of supply if that single well failed. Construction would consist of activities with digging, trenching, and excavation of soil to install various sizes of new pipeline.
