The work to reconstruct the damaged embankment requires the construction of a 110 foot soldier pile wall from the top of the roadway. The soldier pile wall consists of 13 H-piles with length ranging from 60-75 feet and timber lagging. These piles are eight feet apart. The piles are placed within pre-drilled 30-inch diameter holes. These holes are located along the shoulder, 12 feet from edge of travel way (ETW). Concrete slurry will be poured into the holes to secure the piles. The soldier pile wall will be tapered at both ends to the embankment.
