Document Description
The project involves the repair of two areas of damage on Kewin Mill Rd. At location 1, a 30 in diameter Corrugated Metal Pipe was crushed by debris, along with the road embankment and riprap. The damaged culvert was 64 ft long, and 6 ft beneath the road surface. The asphalt road surface with its sub base and base wer not affected, but will have to be removed and replaced to accommodate replacing the existing damaged culvert.
The second area of damage is an Old Oak Ranch Rd, which served as a detour when Kewin Mill Rd was closed due to the above described impact. The road is a gravel surfaced road, approx 12 ft in width. A length approx 1,864 ft long has 1 to 1.5 ft deep ruts on the road, creating a safety hazard. The project involves the re-grading and repair of Old Oak Ranch Rd.

After reviewing the project and its setting, the Environmental Coordinator for the county of Tuolumne has determined that the project is statutorily exempt from review under CEQA pursuant to section 15269 and section 15301 of the State CEQA guidelines b/c emergency repair and restoration projects are exempt as defined in section 15269 and b/c Kewin Mill Rd and Old Oak Ranch Rd are existing roadway facilities as defined in section 15301.
