Document Description
This project is a prescribed, low intensity, underburn in mixed timberlands managed for timber production, recreation and other public trust resource values. The sparse understory is primarily comprised of chinquapin brush and pockets of white fir seedlings. The total project area is 182 acres comprised of 4 units (42 acres, 56 acres, 28 acres and 56 acres) that are delimited by features, including roads. The project will take place on LaTour Demonstration State Forest (LDSF) located approximately 12 air miles east of the community of Whitmore, when conditions permit achievement of the prescription and pursuant to the Smoke Management Permit from the local Air Quality Managment District.
