Document Description
The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) will be assisting with fuel reduction activities in the State Responsibility Area (SRA) wildland-urban interface in the Lexington Hills community along State Highway 17. The project area is bisected by State Highway 17 (Santa Cruz Highway) and spans from Bear Creek Road to the north and west, Highway 35 (Summit Road) to the south, and Los Gatos Creek to the east. The community of Redwood Estates is within the project areas. The CAL FIRE Alma Helitack Base (1,19650 Santa Cruz Highway) is ~0.5 mi south of the northern terminus of the project. Treatments areas cover 87 acres of the 1,196-acre project area, and are generally in teh vicinity of the Highway 17 right-of-way, stretching along 4 miles of both private and publicly owned parcels.
