Document Description
DFD staff will dewater the Del Valle Dam stilling basin and spillway in order to perform and inspection per Dam Safety Branch requirements. The spillway and stilling basin are located immediately downstream of Del Valle Dam. Two six inch trash pumps with a 100 to 150 foot hose, working in tandems, will be used to dewater the basin. The flow will be directed into the route downstream discharges, which is Arroyo Valley Creek. The project footprint is approximately 1.8 acre and includes the spillway and stilling basin. Upon completion of the inspection, the spillway and basin will return to normal operations. Access to the site is directly off Arroyo Road, which is the main entrance into Del Valle Pumping Plant. The entire compound is within DFD right of way.
