Document Description
The Project would consist of a rebate program that would help to eliminate cost barriers by providing direct incentives to restaurateurs to replace old, inefficient equipment with water efficient and energy- efficient replacements. The program would replace high energy and water using appliances, including 28 dishwashers, 21 ice machines, 22 steam cookers, 24 pre rinse spray valves, and 15 bathroom faucets. Each participating restaurant would document the existing equipment specifications, use estimates, and new equipment specifications, which would then be used as inputs for accurately calculating pre- and post-resource use. The baseline would be compared to the post-instillation usage to allow for a quantifiable program that demonstrates reductions in water and energy use.
The proposed project would target restaurants in the Sonoma-Marin Saving Partnership (Partnership) service area. The Partnership represents eleven water utilities in the Sonoma and Marin counties (listed above) who joined together to provide a regional approach to water use efficiency. The Partnership was formed to identify and recommend implementation of water use efficiency projects, and maximize the cost effectiveness if water use efficiency program in the region. The Project would help restaurants to significantly lower their water and energy use and achieve long-term water and energy savings.

Information about pre- and post- replacement resources use would be collected and reported I order to analyze the water, energy and greenhouse gas savings.
