I-80 Safety Lighting and Median Barrier Project

Caltrans proposes to install median lighting (double luminaire mast arm lighting, and high mast light poles) to improve nighttime visibility on I-80 in Alameda County between the SR 13 Overcrossing and 0.4 miles east of the El Cerrito Separation. The proposed project would also replace the existing median barrier with Type 60 to meet current standards. At locations where double luminaire is proposed, barriers will transition from 36" height to 56" height over a transition length of 15 feet on either side of the luminaire. High mast lighting is proposed between the westbound and eastbound structures of the El Cerrito Separation Structure.
