Caltrans proposes to widen the paved shoulders and place ground-in skip rumble strips in both directions for 4.1 miles in Inyo County from 0.35 mile north of Silver Canyon Rd to county line and in Mono County for 0.8 mile from county line to 0.14 mile north of Pumice Rd. The shoulders will be widened from the current width of 2-4 ft to the standard width of 8 ft. The project will also construct ground-in skip shoulder rumble strips along the project length and repair/replace terminal ends of culvert pipes. Construction equipment staging areas will be placed along US 6 in Caltrans existing ROW.
