Project will expand an existing geothermal heating system by constructing additional retrofits and heating system upgrades at Modoc High School, Middle School, and Alturas Elementary School; and extending the geothermal piping to the planned Modoc Medical Center site. the City of Alturas filed a CEQA Notice of Exemption for the Alturas Schools and Swimming Pool Geothermal Heating Project on Oct. 2, 2014. The City of Alturas also filed a CEQA Notice of Determination for a MND for the Modoc Medical Center on August 17, 2015. Both the NOE and the NOD found that there would be no significant environmental impacts.
