Document Description
Environmental grading permit (EG2017-5). Site clean up and remediation activities are located in areas of existing disturbance from the current and past uses of the project site. Avoidance and minimization measures shall be implemented prior to and during all Phase I activities and will include pre-construction biological surveys, worker environmental awareness training, biological monitoring, and exclusionary fencing. Removal of junkyard debris and soil remediation tasks involve Santa Cruz County Environmental Health Service regulatory oversight per a Remedial Action Agreement between the project applicant and the SCCEHS. The soil remediation task involves excavation of approx 18,000 cy across the project site. Impacted soil generally exists within the first two ft of soil below ground surface at the project site. The upper 18 in of soil will be graded and stockpiled. Stockpiles will be sampled for contamination and removed offsite to an approximate landfill or for reuse at an offiste location, depending on testing results.
