The State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB), as the responsible agency, will be issuing a water supply permit amendment. The Ventura Water Department (VWD) proposed project included the replacement of the existing Hall Canyon Tanks 1 and 2 with two welded steel reservoirs that are located on the same footprint and have the same storage capacities of 235,000 gallons each.

The replacement of both Hall Canyon Tanks 1 and 2 are considered to be replacement of existing structures or facilities where the new structure will be located on the same site and will have the same use and capacity which involves negligible or no expansion of capacity; and therefore the project qualifies for a Categorical Exemption per the California Environmental Quality Act. The SWRCB is a responsible agency for this project and is not responsible for the California Department of Fish and Wildlife filing fees.
