NOE - Notice of Exemption
Pursuant to energy Executive Order B-18-12 calling for a reduction in energy usage of 20 percent by the year 2018 for all state facilities, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) is proposing to retrofit existing lighting at CIW. The project includes the following components: 1) convert high pressure sodium (HPS) high mast fixtures to light emitting diode (LED) fixtures; 2) convert HPS wall pack fixtures to LED fixtures; 3) convert HPS cobra head fixtures to LED fixtures; 4) convert HPS ceiling fixtures to LED fixtures; 5) convert incandescent fixtures to LED fixtures; and 6) convert T8 fluorescent fixtures to LED fixtures.
The project consists of minor alterations to an existing facility involving negligible or no expansion of use (CEQA Guidelines 15301). This is one of a class of projects that the Secretary for Resources has found do not have a significant effect on the environment, and therefore is declared to be categorically exempt from the requirement for preparing an environmental document.
