Document Description
The Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has a project to conduct the remove and reconstruct rock slope protection at South Fork Piute Wash on Interstate 40 (I40) project. The project will have work limited to Caltrans' bridge number 54-0872R (Bridge) that crosses over South Fork Piute Wash. There is a portion of the grouted rock slope protection that has failed due to erosion damage at the Bridge. In order to maintain the safety and integrity of the existing structure Caltrans proposes to remove the existing grouted rock slope protection (RSP) and reconstruct it to prevent further deterioration to the abutment caused by ephemeral flows. The proposed project proposes to replace new RSP protection at the base of the bridge.
