Document Description
The Project creates a new regional park on approximately 2,500 acres of the former Concord Naval Weapons Station, within the City of Concord, in central Contra Costa County, at the boundary with the City of Pittsburg, and unincorporated Contra Costa County. The purpose of the proposed project is to establish a long-term vision to guide future decisions affecting use and management of the Concord Hills Regional Park. To implement this vision, the proposed project includes recommendations for trail and facility development, public access and recreation, land management, public safety, and natural and cultural resource protection. Adoption of the Land Use Plan will guide access and management of a new 2,543-acre regional park. The proposed project balances conservation of natural and cultural resources against public access and use.
