The proposed project would involve demolition of the existing dormitory and meeting hall and construction of the Buddha Hall, associated structures including a kitchen and restroom facility, monk dormitory, meditation area, classroom/office building, and landscaping. In total, the project would include 28 total dormitory rooms, six dance classrooms, one office room, and 300 parking stalls. The project would require approval of a GPA, Zone change, CUP, and site plan review to develop an institutional facility within the neighborhood commercial zone. Approval of a tentative parcel map would also be required to combine the three existing land parcels into one parcel. Construction of the proposed project would occur in three phases beginning in 2018.
