The proposed project is a replacement 45,000 sf Santa Clarita Valley Los Angeles County Sheriff's Station and Type 1 detention facility. The proposed 7.6 acre project will also include a 4,000 sf vehicle maintenance building, 4,000 sf future buildable zone, 350 vehicle parking lot, heliport, 180 ft communications tower, road improvements, utilities, and off-site improvements. The existing use is located on two parcels totaling 11.8 acres currently composed of a temporary fire station, roadway, and vacant land at 26201 Golden Valley Rd.
