Document Description
The proposed project would include the removal of units 3, 4, 5, and 6, which were originally constructed more than 5 decades ago, to minimize health and safety risks and reduce future maintenance. Although these units were operationally decommissioned, the units were left physically in place. Tanks D and E, which are empty and have been cleaned, are also proposed for demolition. In addition, various ancillary facilities would also be demolished as part of the project. These include electrical and control buildings, generator step-ups, polishing tank, maintenance shop, and storage structures. The duration of demolition and associated activities would be approx 2.5 years. Demolition would typically take place 5 days per week Monday through Friday in 8-hour shifts. During peak project demolition, more than 100 workers would be on site.
