The proposed project is the 2017 Big Bay Boom July 4th Fireworks Show, which would take place in north San Diego Bay on July 4, 2017 (2017 Show). The District would enter into a sponsorship agreement with the event organizer to provide sponsorship in the form of District funding and services for the event, a free outdoor fireworks display (2017 Agreement). The Big Bay Boom July 4th Fireworks Show is a recurring event that has taken place annually for approximately 17 years. The 2017 Show is anticipated to be viewed by approximately 500,000 people, and no admission fee would be charged. Parking would be available at the public parking lots serving Shelter Island, Harbor Island, North Embarcadero, Seaport Village, South Embarcadero, and Coronado. Also, public transit and shuttle services would be available to the general public.
