Document Description
The project will upgrade the traffic signal controller cabinets at 32 intersections and install a interconnect cable across the State Route 99 right-of-way. The controller cabinets will be replaced at 23 intersections, and new fiber interconnect will be installed in existing cabinets at 9 intersections. Along Bradshaw Road and Kiefer Boulevard, 12 strand fiber optic cables will be installed in existing underground facilities from existing splice vaults to the new cabinets. Excavation is not required for the controller cabinet upgrades; however, minor trenching will occur across State Route 99 to install a new conduit that will connect to existing conduits on either side. In addition, at each signalized intersection on Florin Road (between Franklin to Stockton Boulevards), a small section of small conduit will be installed to connect existing conduits to signal controller cabinets. With the exception of the work in the state right-of-way across State Route 99, for which an encroachment permit will be obtained, all work will occur within Sacramento County's right-of-way.
