Document Description
The existing bridge is an ~1,440 ft long and ~34-ft wide nine span steel girder bridge on reinforced concrete piers and abutments. The project proposes to remove the existing bridge deck overlay by grinding, and place a polyester concrete deck overlay wearing surface. The deck join seals will be replaced, the fixed joints will be repaired, and the associated delaminations and concrete spalls on structural elements will be repaired. A small deteriorated bridge railing segment will be replaced. An earth retention or slope stability system will be considered near the abutment, to protect the north end of the girders from chronic inundation of dirt and debris. The bridge alignment and width will remain the same. All work will be within the Tuolumne County right-of-way.
