Response Plan for 21900 Barton Road
NOE - Notice of Exemption
The project involves approval of a response plan by DTSC pursuant to health and safety code, chp 6.8 as submitted on March 7, 2017 by Epic Land Solutions, Inc. on behalf of the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority. The Response is a minor action that is estimated to cost $180,000. The response plan focuses on the excavation and offsite disposal of soil impacted by volatile organic compounds with sampling results above residential screening levels. The purpose of the project is to remove contaminated soils from the site and prevent exposure to impacted soils. In addition, DTSC and the SBCTA, the site owner, will enter into a land use covenant to restrict land use at the site to commercial/industrial use.
The project is a minor action designed to prevent, minimize, stabilize, mitigate or eliminate the release or threat of release of hazardous waste substances.
The project will not exceed $1M in cost.
The project doesn't involve the onsite use of hazardous waste incinerator or thermal treatment unit or the relocation of residences or businesses, and doesn't involve the potential release into the air of volatile organic compounds as defined in health and safety code section 25123.
