Due to drought conditions, dead and dying trees threaten THCSD's water and sewer facilities. Falling dead trees would damaged these facilities, resulting in significant sewer spills and drinking water outages. This project removes dead/dying trees to protect the facilities and public health and safely.

Project is an emergency project to remove dead and dying trees within a high hazard zone and is exempt by Governor Brown's 10/30/2015 Emergency Proclamation for dead/dying tree removal in High Hazard Zones and per Sections 15629(a)(b)(c) and 21080(b)(4). THCSD also declared a local state of emergency.
