Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes to install radio infrastructure (roadside repeater) approximately 155 feet north of the edge of pavement, at post mile 10.4 on State Route (SR) 4 in Alpine County. The repeater would be located within Mosquito Lakes Campground in the Calaveras Ranger District of the Stanislaus National Forest (SNF). The purpose of the project is to provide radio coverage between Caltrans field maintenance staff and outside parties, especially during emergencies. The proposed radio infrastructure project is needed because of know deficiencies in current Caltrans radio coverage.
