Document Description
DTSC, pursuant to authority granted under chp 6.8, division 20, sec 25323.1 and 25356.1 of the Health and safety code, approved a revised RAW as submitted on February 24, 2017, by Holdrege & Kull, on behalf of the Chico USD. The purpose of the project is to remediate shallow soil where lead, dieldrin, and arsenic was found to exceed the respective screening level using excavation and off-site disposal. The removal reduces the human health-based risk to an acceptable standard for residential use. After the cleanup activities are completed, CUSD plans to demolish the existing structures and infrastructures, construct new classrooms and a library as well as extend the parking and drop off area.
