Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes an emergency to correct the exisiting pavement delineation merging two lanes of westbound State Route (SR) 4 into one lane towards southbound SR 5 at the connector ramp at post mile (PM) 16.2 in San Joaquin County. The scope of work includes obliterating the existing pavement markings, restriping, and removal of signage denoting lane merging. The project is needed to immediately address the problem of traffic congestion, and the purpose of the project is to prevent or mitigate the loss of life, property, or essential public services.
