Document Description
The Response Plan is to excavate approximately 500 cubic yards of contaminated soil and transport it off-Site for disposal to a permitted facility. The excavated areas would then be backfilled with clean soil. Soil excavation, handling, and stockpiling would be performed in a manner which limits and controls the mixing of contaminated soil with uncontaminated soil. The Response Plan would allow for the safe reuse of the Site by reducing arsenic and lead concentrations to natural background levels typical for the area. Whenever any of the excavations are completed, soil samples will be collected from the sidewalls and bottom of the excavation to confirm that remaining soil has concentrations of lead and arsenic that are at or below background concentration values.
