Document Description
UC Davis proposes to demolish the Orchard Park housing area including removal of all existing structures, surface improvements, and existing utilities. The Orchard Park housing area was constructed in 1964 and consists of 200 units in 22 buildings. The housing complex has been vacant since July 2014, as it has reached the end of its current lifespan and would require substantial investments to provide for adequate drinking water lines, sanitary sewer infrastructure, necessary structural repairs and safety features such as fire suppression and sprinklers. After demolition, the project site would be prepared to repairs and safety features such as fire suppression and sprinklers. After demolition, the project site would be prepared to provide for appropriate irrigation, drainage, and safety features. Future redevelopment of the project site is currently not scheduled. If and when the site is proposed for development an appropriate CEQA review would be conducted.
