Document Description
Construction and operation of a battery electrical storage system that would store up to MW of electricity for dispatch into the local Southern CA Edison grid via the existing adjacent Wakefield Substation. The storage system would consist of 20 self-contained battery storage modules that would each house mounting battery racks, 22 lithium-ion battery cells, and associated electrical equipment. The battery storage modules would be made from converted shipping containers. The storage modules would be surrounded by an access drive aisle. An overhead solar panel array would be containers. The entire project site would be fenced for security and restricted access. An existing office building on the site would be renovated and used as an office by the project applicant.
