Reasons for Exemption
Section 15314 allows school facility additions to existing schools where the addition does not increase original student capacity by more than 25% or ten classrooms, whichever is less. The University Center project would serve existing student population in excess of 25% of the original student capacity will occur and the project would construct only four additional classrooms within the University Center building. Therefore, the project qualifies for this exemption.
