Document Description
The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CALFIRE) conducts prescribed burning activities on privately owned land west of Arbuckle in Colusa County. A Notice of Exemption (NOE) was filed in 2012 for the project; this NOE serves to update that document. The project involves light to moderate intensity burning of grass to train fire personnel in CAL FIRE's Northern Region utilizing different firing techniques. Firing of burn units are conducted in a manner that allows firefighters to utilize controlled fire to extinguish simulated uncontrolled fire. Project activities include establishing fire control lines, igniting fire within control lines, and extinguishing fire with prescribed fire and suppression tools if necessary.
