Document Description
The site is located on a ridge top above Weber Creek just south of Pollock Pines in a heavy residential are near Sly Park. The elevation is above 4,000 feet with a mixed conifer vegetation type. The area has been logged in the past but contains a large component of second growth timber. Much of the understory is made up of brush and a ladder fuel component that can easily carry fire into the canopy of the older larger over story of trees. The location of the fuel break is ideal for wildland fire suppression resources to take suppression action of a large wildfire.
