Document Description
The project consists of a shaded fuel break of approximately 240 acres, 4.2 miles in length and up to 500 feet wide. The project treats forest fuel on both sides of the major access road for this part of the Diamond Mountain Motorway. The west end of the project starts at the Gold Run Road and the south end is where the Motorway enters USFS property. Most of the project area is characterized as a moderately stocked mixed conifer stand 80 to 120 years of age. The under story is composed of overstocked shade tolerant conifers and some brush species.
