- Document Description
- This proposed project involves replacing existing transmission wires (reconductoring) and modifying or replacing existing lattice steel structures along approx. 59.5 miles of the existing Palermo-Rio Oso 115 kV transmission system alignment. The Project will take place along five segments of the existing transmission line: South of Palermo Line (approx. 38.7 miles), Palermo Sub Line Segment (Approx. 1.6 miles), Pease Sub Line Segment (approx. 5.2 miles), Bogue Sub Line Segment (approx. 6.4 miles), and Rio Oso Sub Line Segment Loop (approx. 7.6 miles). Project will result in temporary impacts to 22.119 acres of giant garter snake (Thamnophis gigas) habitat and the permanently remove 0.085 acres of habitat. The project is expected to result in incidental take of giant garter snake, which is designated as a threatened species under the CESA. The ITP referenced above as issued by CDFW authorizes incidental take of species listed under CESA that may occur as a result of Project implementation.
